Last week Fernco, a leading provider of innovative civils and drainage solutions, conducted a highly successful installation trial of its cutting-edge PA Saddle at Iplex Pipelines facilities. The event was attended by industry professionals from Greater Western Water and Yarra Valley Water, who witnessed firsthand the capabilities of Fernco’s revolutionary product.

The trial focused on the installation of the Fernco PA Saddle on an Iplex SewerMAX DN300 pipe, a recent solution for modern sewer systems. The primary objective was to showcase the unparalleled speed and simplicity of the PA Saddle installation process, especially when compared to traditional factory-made junctions.

Traditionally, sewer infrastructure installations involve time-consuming processes with factory-made junctions. This is due to junctions typically needing to be made to order and needing lifting equipment to be moved into position which brings further health and safety and more forward planning. Fernco’s PA Saddle, however, presents a paradigm shift in this landscape. The trial demonstrated how this innovative solution streamlines the installation process, providing a quicker and more efficient alternative to conventional methods. This is achieved by exposing a small surface area of the pipe to allow for a core hole to be drilled for the saddle to be attached. The saddle can be placed anywhere along the pipe system keeping planning of the connections to a minimum compared to traditional junctions that have to have their positions planned out.

“We are thrilled with the success of the installation trial at Iplex Pipelines, with the invaluable presence of industry leaders from Greater Western Water and Yarra Valley Water,” said Jemma Holliday, Business Manager at Fernco PTY. Andy Thin, Fernco’s Business Development Manager for Australasia had this to say on the occasion, “The Fernco PA Saddle is a game-changer, offering a swift and hassle-free solution for sewer applications. This trial exemplifies our commitment to advancing the industry and providing state-of-the-art solutions to our partners.”

One of the key takeaways from the trial is the official approval of the Fernco PA Saddle for Sewer Applications, marking a significant milestone for the company. This approval will be reflected on the Melbourne Retail Water Agencies (MRWA) portal, solidifying the product’s credibility and positioning it as a trusted choice for sewer infrastructure projects.

Fernco continues to lead the way in civils and drainage innovation, and the success of the PA Saddle installation trial is a testament to the company’s dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions that redefine industry standards. As communities strive for more efficient and sustainable infrastructure, Fernco remains at the forefront, delivering products that make a lasting impact.
