Iplex Pipelines were requested to provide a solution to capture and control the rainfall as much as possible on a Farm development. Hydroflow Australia were asked to assist with a product to connect over 150 PVC downpipes into multiple sizes of Iplex BlackMax® corrugated pipes.
Due to recent extreme weather conditions – either drought or flood, it was imperative to have adequate water supply to keep up with the Berries production and demand while controlling all rainwater runoff to prevent damage to the many crop grow structures, roadways for farm vehicles and pedestrians.
The Fernco PA Saddle has been designed to create a lateral connection into DN300-600 twin wall plastic pipes, anywhere along the drainage system. It was chosen to be the most suitable solution in order to make the lateral pipe connection into the BlackMax® with the PVC downpipes due to:
• The product providing an air and watertight seal between the two different pipe types
• The installation didn’t require custom-made junctions or need any curing time
• The saddles were able to be installed after the main drainage pipes were laid and joined, increasing time efficiencies thanks to the
lightweight design and no need for heavy lifting equipment
• The saddles were installed in a matter of minutes, reducing labour costs
The client was happy with the product and with the Berry production in full swing, they are now making plans to design the next stage.
