General Health and Safety
1. Identification of Components
- Synthetic rubber product.
- Surface coated in lubricant / release agent.
- Stainless steel bands.
2. Composition
- Couplings assembled from a wide range of components.
- Synthetic rubber products based on generally accepted compounding principles.
- Lubricant/release agent typically composed of >35% silicone ww, Water >50% ww, Surfactants <5% ww.
3. Hazards Identification
- None Hazardous.
- Slight irritation may occur through continuous prolonged contact with lubricant or rubber.
4. First Aid Measures
- Skin contact: Wash with soap and water.
- Eye contact: Irrigate with water.
- Seek medical advice if persists.
5. Fire Hazards
6. Accidental Release Measures
7. Handling and Storage (normal use)
- When coated with silicone avoid contact with eyes.
- Store rubber products away from direct sunlight, strong artificial light, radiation and ozone.
8. Exposure Controls/Personal Protection (normal use)
- Hand protection can be used during handling and assembly.
9. Physical and Chemical Properties
10. Stability and Reactivity
- Conditions to avoid: None known
- Materials to avoid: Strong oxidizing agents
- Hazardous decomposition: On burning lubricant produces carbon and silicone oxides, rubber produces dense smoke containing toxic gases.
